led - verb (past tense and past participle of the verb lead)

 

Not lead.

Note: The word lead is not the past tense and past participle of the verb lead. The word led is the correct past tense and past participle. For a discussion of the differences between led and lead, read chapter 10 in the section on Grammatical Mistakes.

Example: He led the orchestra. past tense

Example: She led me astray. past tense

Example: He has led the orchestra. past participle
