A Sentence Ending with an Abbreviation

The period shows abbreviations such as Co., Ave., Corp., Bldg., and a host of others. If a sentence ends in an abbreviated word, the single period serves double duty to show abbreviation and to end the sentence.

Thus:

We received the report of The Coca-Cola Co.

You do not need two periods at the end of the sentence. In fact, one immutable rule on punctuation states that you'll never use two sentence-ending punctuation marks at the end of a sentence.
